Shun Melson is definitely the go-to stylist in Atlanta. With clientele that includes Kim Zolciak-Biermann, Monica, Shekinah, Gucci Mane and Kandi Burruss, it’s obvious that her expertise is in demand. Rocking a blonde messy bob with perfection, a Chanel statement necklace and a grey two-piece ensemble from her fashion arsenal, this Georgia peach exudes confidence. Our guest reporter, Dione Davis, spoke with her about her work and the fashion world.
Recently, Melson has crossed over into the plus size world and now she’s showing the world that the curvy girl can look fly too. Rolling out got a chance to catch up with Melson in Atlanta to talk about her work.

I’m a wardrobe stylist, personal shopper, celebrity stylist,T-shirt designer.
There are a lot of people who are passionate about fashion and want to become a stylist. What does it take to be an amazing stylist in this business today?
Consistency. I do fashion 101 classes where I teach people who want to be a stylist all about me because pretty much they see my Instagram and they see me running around with all of these celebrities and all of these fabulous clothes and they don’t know what goes into it. So, the majority of the time when you see me with those fabulous shades on, I’m running on three hours of sleep. So, I’m just pretty much covering up my bags. It’s consistency, going the extra mile — having a great team. And I always suggest interning under a very busy stylist.
Where do you go to find different pieces that are going to catch someone’s eye that no one else can find?
New York is one of my favorite places to shop. I mean from SoHo to Fifth Avenue, to some of the smaller new designers, I’m always obsessed with finding new smaller designers instead of going to Neiman Marcus and going to Saks. So, New York would definitely be my main hit-up spot.
