The recent robbery of Kim Kardashian in Paris made international news this week. The reality star and wife of superstar rapper Kanye West was robbed of her jewelry while in her apartment. The thieves made off with jewelry worth millions including her diamond engagement ring. According to police, she had a gun placed to her head and was tied up and thrown into her bathroom tub while the thieves ransacked the apartment and escaped on bicycles. It is suspected that she may have been a victim of the notorious “Pink Panther” gang, an international group of criminals who’ve executed several successful high-profile robberies. One former member of the gang identified as Palve “Punch” Stanimirovic has indicated that Kardashian may have made it easy for the gang to rob the famous star.

According to Stanimirovic, “Kim Kardashian is very active on social media. She likes to expose what she has. She had a diamond ring worth $4.5 million. She puts it on social media and therefore everyone knows about it.  “Everybody knows that Kim Kardashian is an easy target. She’s by herself and you know who the people are that work in the service industry in Paris and all over Europe. They have friends that have friends that have friends,” he continued. “It’s so easy to pick up a phone and say ‘hey Kim Kardashian is here in

Jewel heists generally do not get the thieves the value of the full amount of the items that were stolen and Stanimirovic believes this will be the case with the Kardashian heist. “They’re only going to get like $2-3 million if they’re lucky — if they’re very fortunate. If they get $200,000 to 300,000 each for the five or six of them involved that’s a score,” he said.

The “Pink Panther” gang has been active for almost 30 years and is a loose collection of international thieves. They got their name from a famous 1963 heist movie. Law enforcement in Paris is still investigating the crime and whether or not the thieves had inside help.
