Dr. Eloisa Y. Klementich
President and Chief Executive Officer, Invest Atlanta
As president and CEO of Invest Atlanta, Eloisa Klementich has spent the last two decades solving complex problems at the city, state and national levels. Klementich heads the city of Atlanta’s economic development authority where she has been lauded by Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed for her involvement in nearly all recent economic development wins for the city.
The foundation of the Pitzer College alum’s economic development expertise may be her pair of master’s degrees, in business administration from el Instituto Tecnologico de Monterrey, and in urban planning and Latin American affairs from the University of California, Los Angeles.
“For the last two decades, I have held a variety of positions focused on solving complex economic and community development problems at the city, state and national levels,” Klementich said.
She also augmented her expertise with a doctorate in public administration from the University of LaVerne, along with certifications in different fields to enhance her skill set. Nevertheless, Klementich is humbled at the thought of being considered a powerful woman.
“I am just focused on my passion for revitalizing the community and changing families’ lives. What an honor I am fortunate to have,” she said, adding that her three most important success factors are being passionate, staying focused, and giving back.
In addition to her work for the federal government and for the state of California, Klementich was also a consultant to Mexico’s President Vicente Fox on best practices for addressing constituent issues and requests. She teaches her three girls, just as her parents taught her, that all opportunity starts with education.
“My parents were young entrepreneurs, and their drive and passion for what they did showed me that the sky is the limit when it comes to your dreams,” Klementich recalled. “I share this same sense of inspiration with my three wonderful girls, so they feel empowered to achieve their goals.”
