After less than two seasons on “The View,” Raven-Symoné announces she’s moving.
During Thursday’s all-new episode, the actress made a big announcement. Turns out, the child star turned household name is leaving the popular ABC daytime talk show for an exciting new project.
“I’m excited and sad, but mostly excited. I have an announcement to make: No, I’m not pregnant,” she joked. The host explained that she’s been working with the Disney Channel on a spinoff to her hit “That’s So Raven” series. “There’s no title yet, but I’m calling it That’s So Raven 2. It’s Raven Baxter. It’s still me. But I am a mother this time. I’m going to be a single mother raising two kids, and one of them learns that she has visions.” Auditions will be underway any day now, she added.
Though an official exit date has not yet been determined, the 30-year-old went on to gush over her time with ABC: “I’ve had such a great time…I’ve learned so much, and I’ve been saying, my experience has been multidimensional.”
As previously reported, back in June of 2015 Symoné was officially named a co-host of the talk show. Her controversial views on everything from politics and pop culture, to name choices have ruffled feathers (to say the least). Her voice certainly shaped “The View.”
“I definitely have a different lifestyle than a lot of people in this world—good and bad—and my views are different than one might think my views might be because I’ve never really spoken my truth until recently,” the “Cheetah Girls” alum told E! News last summer. “Hopefully I can shed some light on what I like to call the truth.”
She continued, “Some people might not agree with me and some people will but we know how to talk to each other in a respectful way so that everybody gets their point across and there’s no cutthroat conversation.”
