On Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced its nominees for 2016’s standout movies and television show ahead of January’s 74th Golden Globe Awards.

Octavia Spencer, who received a best supporting actress nod for her role in the upcoming film Hidden Figures, stated via telephone on the “Today” show that she’s “very humbled.” She said she sees the movie about the early days of NASA’s space program as a love letter to late astronaut John Glenn.

The 74th Golden Globe Awards will be hosted by Tonight Show‘s Jimmy Fallon. The telecast will air live on both coasts Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017 on NBC.
