As expected, the 70th annual Bronner Bros. International Beauty Show is here and is shutting down the scene. Thousands have rushed to Atlanta for the weekend anticipating seeing both creative and outrageous hairstyles. This show is the largest Black hair show in the country and is populated with hair professionals from all over the world.
Expect the unexpected here at the hair show. There’s not one corner where you can turn and not find over-the-top hair, makeup and wardrobe. Prepare to do a double-take at not only the models and hair and makeup professionals, but the women and men who love to slay anytime of the day.
In addition to the numerous booths where products can be bought, there are classes where stylists can learn from the best of the best; ranging from weaves, to natural looks, how-to sessions on cutting and coloring, and even barbering lessons. Even more interesting are the live demonstrations and interactions. Attendees were able to see hairstyles and various makeup looks from start to finish. Models were handing out free products and even grabbing a couple of onlookers to participate in the live demos.
But what’s most exciting are the shows and hair battle competitions. Models sat patiently as their stylists were hard at work. Seats steadily were filling as the competitions got intense with time quickly winding down. Judges were seeking head-turning looks and out-of-the-box creativity. Some walked away successful, others walked away with lessons learned.
We were able to catch a few of the looks from today’s different shows. We even got a chance to chat with the first-place winner of Champion of Weaves.
