Valentine’s Day is here, which means couples will be indulging in gifts, love and appreciation for one another. Today always brings out the best in people who are looking to either enhance or redeem their love lives. What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than to have a solid playlist to wine and dine to?

LL Cool J – “Hey Lover”

This 1995 jam has always been a tried and true classic. LL Cool J and Boyz II Men merged over a classic hip-hop beat that samples Michael Jackson’s “The Lady In My Life.” This a perfect Valentine’s Day jam for all the lovers out there.

Dreezy ft. T-Pain – “Close to You”

It’s hard to find a song that gives you that feeling that you felt when you heard your favorite 90’s love ballad. Dreezy and T-pain complemented each other on “Close to You” and the video also is a rendition on the modern-day “guy tries to impress girl” analogy with a twist.

Jodeci – “Forever My Lady”

Synth keyboard parts and heavy claps with added reverb are staples in all of Jodeci’s early hits. Once you heard these sounds, matched with KC and Jojo’s harmonies, it immediately puts you in a blissful mood. “Forever My Lady” should definitely be on your Valentine’s Day playlist.

Twenty88 – “Deja Vu”

We always knew that Big Sean and Jhene Aiko made beautiful music together, but their “TWENTY88” project in 2016 really showed us how powerful their musical connection is. Deja Vu is a perfect marriage of singing and rapping over exceptional production by Detroit producer Key Wane.

Ro James – “Permission”

Ro James emerged onto the scene with this smash hit in late 2015. In the song, he’s showing a woman common courtesy before going any further with his actions. There’s nothing like a little tender loving care to set the perfect mood on V-Day.
