David Desper, 28, has been arrested for a road rage killing. Bianca Roberson, 18, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, was going off to college at Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida. She planned to major in Criminal Justice and had hopes to work for the FBI. The graduate of Bayard Rustin High School and her family were “excited” about the future.
“We were all excited for her,” her father, Rodney Roberson told WCAU-TV. “She was excited. We were just happy for her.”
Desper opened fire and killed Bianca on Wednesday, June 28, as the two attempted to merge into a single lane and fled the scene. Bianca’s car veered off the road into the bushes and was later found in a ditch in West Goshen Township. Authorities discovered the dented Chevrolet pick-up truck in Delaware County as well as a semi-automatic handgun they believe he used to kill Roberson was found in Desper’s bedroom.
Chester County district attorney Tom Hogan today described Bianca’s killing as a “savage … senseless and brutal act,” adding “Someone didn’t want her to merge into a lane of traffic. As Bianca was merging from two lanes to one, there was a man in a red pick up truck also merging down and they jockeyed for position and he wasn’t happy. So he pulled out a gun and shot Bianca in the head, killing her instantly.”
Just before the confrontation-turned-murder happened, Bianca shopped at the mall with her grandmother. They were buying clothes for college.
Desper turned himself in at 2 a.m. on July 2, 2017 to West Goshen Police and placed under arrest. He was arraigned on first-degree and third-degree murder charges and denied bail. He is charged with murder, possession of an instrument of crime and reckless endangerment.
