Simone Biles is executive producing her very own biopic.

Written by Kelly Fullerton, The Simone Biles Story (working title) is based on the athlete’s biography, Courage To Soar: A Body in Motion, A Life in Balance, and will reveal “the sacrifices and dedication it took her to become one of the greatest and most celebrated athletes in the world,” according to a press release.

According to Deadline, the made-for-TV movie will follow Biles “through her sacrifices and hard work that lead her to win 19 Olympic and World Championship medals and cemented her stake as one of the greatest gymnasts of all-time. Biles’ journey from foster care to the Olympic podium is full of life experiences that serve as an inspiration for every little girl with a dream.”

A real-life advocate for the youth, Biles, 19, rose from foster care to Olympic gold — a success she credits to those who raised her. Because her biological mother struggled with drug and alcohol problems, Biles spent the first few years of her life in and out of foster care. At age 3, her grandparents, Nellie and Ron, stepped in to care for her along with her younger sister, Adria, before adopting the young girls.

Since then, Biles has called them mom and dad and credits them for her career. “I’ve been brought up to never take anything for granted and to always be the best Simone—the best version of myself,” Biles once told Glamour. “From a very young age, they always believed in us and told us to believe in ourselves.”

Biles follows Gabby Douglas, whose biopic, The Gabby Douglas Story, premiered on Lifetime in early 2014 after her 2012 Olympic all-around title.

The Simone Biles Story is set to premiere in early 2018 on Lifetime. Will you be watching? Sound off in the comment section below.
