Native Detroiters and Cool Smart Inc.’s founders Byron Suggs and Jason Appling held their seventh annual charitable fundraising event Tux and Chucks at the Sound Board located inside the MotorCity Casino Hotel in downtown Detroit. Each year, the city of Detroit chooses local non-profit organizations to become honorees who receive a portion of the proceeds from the event given to them by Cool Smart Inc. to further educate and help others, especially youth in the city. The theme Tux and Chucks makes the environment classy yet fun and exciting. “We like to see a variety of Chucks every year. Chuck Taylor shoes is the one pair of shoes that you can make your own. I want to see different colors, studs, superheroes. I want to see it all,” says co-founder Byron Suggs.
