The City of Atlanta was the talk of the Wynwood District at Art Basel Miami last night as stylist and curator Renaldo Nehemiah, ChooseATL, and Invest Atlanta combined forces to bring the best of the city to the millennial creative community to urge creators to relocate to the Capital of the South. Art of Atlanta showcased some of the city’s top creators as Atlanta rappers Trinidad James and Rich Homie Quan attended an exhibit featuring five of Atlanta’s top artists: artist and DJ McFlyy, known for his collaborations with Supra Footwear and Under Armour; DL Warfield, whose iconic American Flag Remix collection hangs in the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium; street artist Chris Hobe, also known by the underground pseudonym HOBE; Joshua Blevins, and Adam Crawford.

During a panel discussion, participants learned what makes Atlanta’s heart beat – economic growth resulting from emerging culture, technology and entertainment, including the film, TV and music industries. They heard from industry veteran Chris Hicks, director of the City of Atlanta Office of Film & Entertainment as well as ChooseATL executive director Kate Atwood; Invest Atlanta SVP of Economic Development Kevin Johnson; and Nehemiah. They discussed the city’s allure that has made it a creative haven for some of the biggest names in music and art, and why it’s home to the third most Fortune 500 companies in any city in the U.S. and the No. 1 filming location.

Atlanta often dominates Billboard with artists and producers Metro Boomin’, Coach K’s team (Migos and Lil Yachty), Lil Uzi Vert,  DJ Drama and veteran artists who have transcended music like Usher, Ludacris and TI. It’s home to Tyler Perry Studios, Bobbcat Films, Tree Sound Studio, and the Atrium, a legendary entertainment venue. Mega boxoffice hits comes out of Atlanta thanks to Tyler Perry and Will Packer. The city is one of the best options in the world for youth who are creative even to corporate moms on a mission.

Atlanta continues to make itself known and understood by showcasing innovation and demonstrating excellence. It’s what makes the city so attractive to transplants.
