You wanna know what I’ve found interesting? That 90% of the racism I’ve experienced in my lifetime has been at the hands of fellow black people. It’s crazy! Why do this? Why tell a woman she’s not enough because YOU THINK SO??

You guys act like i dont want every skin tone represented on TV smh who would ever want that? This conversation about Storm is so stupid, I’m out. Y’all don’t know me and probably never will. If i lose my job to another actress, i hope it’s for her talent and grace, not her skin.

Nope. Disney is re-casting the whole team, boo. Sorry. Dark Phoenix will be your last. We getting a dark skinned non-racially Ambiguous Storm like we deserve. pic.twitter.com/sOFlVhx7ZG

It also shouldn’t be negated that what is meant for you is for you. And no one should be diminishing their dream because they feel shame because they’re not “enough” We gotta shit ton of problems among us and there’s no more time for the me vs you it’s us.

she’s been saying this since she was cast as Aaliyah tho. Aaliyah was a BROWN-SKINNED, full Black woman and she justified it because it basically helped her not be unemployed. Why would she care about an injustice that benefits her mediocrity?

“I’m never turning down a role to make other people feel comfortable”
Translation: I don’t care enough about colorism to call casting directors out and not take roles that should go to darker women despite the fact there’s way more calls for light girls i can choose from

You could have turned down the role. We expect this of white actors when they misrepresent race and skin tone and we should hold ourselves to the same standard. As lighter skinned POC we have an obligation to uplift underrepresented members of our community. Just my two bitcoins.

girl PLEASE. we as light skin people have privilege, we’re more accepted for roles. when theres any black ppl on tv we can relate, dark skin folks dont see themselves represented as often as we do. you CAN do smthn. you can speak on colourism instead of ignoring & dismissing it !

Also not everyone gotta be ‘politically correct’ when these light skinned women will continue to take roles and step on dark skinned women to get ahead with no regrets. As she proudly admitted here. Go care about her light skinT feelings somewhere else 👋🏾👋🏾 pic.twitter.com/G996yfCYOx
