Rapper JuJu is using her talent for a greater purpose. The artist is discussing systematic issues and Black history in her new song “Strange Fruit.”

In the video for the song, JuJu dons a hoodie as her armor and her words as her weapon. She’s also draped in an American flag, which symbolizes the chokehold America has on melanated people. On the track, she repeats the powerful statement, “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot,” which was born during the summer of 2014 when Mike Brown was gunned down by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri.

Juju recently was crowned as WorldStarHipHop’s “Female Talent of the Week” for her viral freestyle over Mobb Deep’s “Shook Ones.”
