Amara’s take: I’m just going to give it a 4 out of 10. I really didn’t like it at all. I wish I could deliver a more nuanced take as a music intellectual, but at this point, I’m not even sure if Kanye is worth the energy. Hard pass on this one for me.

DeWayne’s take: As much as I like Kid Cudi, I think that it’s just increasingly difficult to listen to music from Kanye West without hearing it through the “what the hell is wrong with this dude” filter. But even through my attempt to listen without bias, I still wasn’t all that impressed. In the past, Kanye West albums always felt so inspired … now, it just feels like his antics are so much louder than the actual music. Which is something that I never thought was possible.
