The 2018 Lexus GS 300 is one of the pre-eminent luxury sedans in its class. For one week in the summer, our publication got an opportunity to test drive this vehicle which exudes style and class.
The sporty design is the first eye-catching feature of the GS 300, which includes 17-inch wheels, LED headlights, and the signature spindle grille. The interior comes with leather upholstery, a sunroof, power-adjustable and heated front seats, driver-seat memory settings and an automatic climate control system.
During a two-hour road trip south of the Atlanta area, we got a chance to test some of its technology, audio and safety features. The sound was superb as a 12-speaker surround-sound audio system amplified the latest hits of the summer. There is an 8-inch display screen which allows drivers to control music, climate, Bluetooth, and also displays images from the rearview camera when the car is in reverse.
The display also allows drivers to access the Lexus Enform system. The Lexus Enform system provides navigation tools and comes with Destination Assist, a 24/7 live operator who can provide help with navigation.
In terms of safety, the Lexus GS 300 has features that can help prevent accidents. It has a lane departure warning with steering assist, lane-keep assist, and a pre-collision system that can detect pedestrians.
Under the hood, the Lexus GS 300 has speed and power. It’s equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that can produce 241 horsepower. It’s also good on gas for a car its size. The GS 300 has a fuel economy of 21 miles per gallon in city driving and 30 miles per gallon on the freeway.
