Former “Cosby Show” actor Geoffrey Owens, who was shamed for working a side job at Trader Joe’s in between acting gigs, is getting a tremendous benefit for being internationally humiliated by a female fan.

Owens, 57, is about to appear on Oprah Winfrey Network’s biggest show as a result of a job offer from mega-movie mogul Tyler Perry. Perry learned that Owens was hustling to pay the bills and maintain his acting and teaching careers by bagging groceries and working the cash register after the fan sent photos to Daily Mail and the story went viral nationwide.

In the message Perry posted on his Twitter account, he told Owens, “I’m about to start shooting OWN’s number one drama next week! Come join us!!!”

According to TMZ, Owens accepted Perry’s offer to join the Madea movie franchise creator on the set of “The Haves and the Have Nots,” the OWN network’s highest-rated drama.

This is not a one-shot, one-appearance deal. Owens has agreed to terms that have him working as a recurring star on the popular weekly drama and will appear in 10 episodes.

In fact, Owens is reportedly set to fly to Atlanta now to begin filming next week on the set of Tyler Perry Studios and elsewhere in the metro area.

Details of his salary were not released.

In the meantime, Owens should definitely thank the female fan, Karma Lawrence, for inadvertently shaming him by snapping his photo at the grocery store cash register. She told a local New Jersey media outlet that she is anxious to apologize to Owens face-to-face, especially since she has been buried underneath an avalanche of hateful messages for “outing” him, forcing her to shut down all of her social media platforms.
