The ultimate dream of most children is to make it big in America and then buy their parents a new home in appreciation of giving them life and raising them.
Cardi indicated she wanted to do this last year but was unable to fork over more than $600K at the time. Besides, Cardi says in the video, the cost of living in metro New York is so astronomical that a half-million dollar home does not buy much — at least the kind of home she wanted for her mother. So she put those dreams on hold. Until now.
“Happiest day of my life,” Cardi said as filmed the sizable kitchen, replete with white cabinets. “Last year, I was so thirsty to buy my mom a home, and I could only afford a house that cost $600,000, and you know, we live in New York.”
Cardi, 26, did not divulge the cost of the massive mansion, but Hot New Hip Hop reports the hot new house was scooped up for just under $2M.
Under the caption of the top photo, Cardi penned this caption: “Stay down till you come up! “It’s always been a dream to buy my mother a house. Last year I was so thirsty to buy my mom a house but the ones I was interested [in] for her weren’t at my price range. I worked and worked and now I’m here !! Thank you everybody who supported me to make my childhood dreams come true! Buy my momma a house !!…..don’t ask me for s— m—–f—–s I got big girls bills 😩😩!”
As she continues through the empty home, she checks in a side room and showed off the foyer, complete with a staircase featuring an elaborate banister. “I waited, I waited, I waited, I waited until I could afford a dream home,” she explained.
“I worked and worked and now I’m here!! Thank you, everybody who supported me to make my childhood dreams come true!” she wrote on Instagram.
The two-story house, TMZ reports, come with a built-in gym, a fireplace and a gargantuan basement.
Cardi added that the arrival of her 4-month-old daughter Kulture Kiari, whom she had in July with husband Offset of the Atlanta rap group Offset, makes the house all the more worth it:
“I’m emotional. … I’m just happy that when my daughter visits her grandma’s house, she’s going to come here,” she said while filming the house.
The “Bartier Cardi” lyricist also loves the rich red room, which could be made into a theater or entertainment room. “Favorite part of all, it’s this,” she shared in the video. “Can’t wait until all my family comes here, Thanksgiving, everything. So happy.”
In her next video, Cardi filmed the top floor, including its wooden floors and long curtains.
“So this is the upstairs. So happy,” she gushed.
