Christine Miller is the head of Global Portfolio for Sandoz, which is a division of Novartis. She recently spoke with rolling out at the 2019 Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit. Miller shared her thoughts on the conference and the importance of workplace diversity.
How have you enjoyed the 2019 Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit?
I’ve had a great time. I loved the seminars today. There was some really impactful feedback and advice, especially around being in the room, owning it and taking accountability for moving your career forward
What is your advice for young women entering the workforce?
My one piece of advice is to be confident. Ask questions and always ask for feedback. Know that you can be whatever you want to be and there is no limit.
How important is it for companies to embrace diversity?
I think it’s super important for companies to embrace diversity. I think innovation comes from having different ideas and different opinions. When you have a diverse set of people around the table, your ability to innovate becomes so much greater.
How do you balance work life?
I don’t really think that there is anything called work-life balance. What I do believe in is living in the moment and making sure you’re taking time for the things that are important for you and re-energize yourself. If you don’t take care of you being happy, no one else will.
