The number of famous rappers arrested this year in Georgia is growing once more. Police in Coweta County, Georgia — about a 45-minute drive from downtown Atlanta — have announced the arrest of rapper Boosie Badazz, formerly Lil’ Boosie, real name Torrence Hatch Jr., and Antonio Allen, a former New York Jets safety.
The pair was arrested Monday, April 8, 2019, after a Coweta County Sheriff’s deputy noticed their car driving erratically. According to WSB-TV when the vehicle was searched, police discovered marijuana, a loaded gun, and an undisclosed amount of cash. Both men were arrested and booked into the Coweta County jail and face a variety of charges.
Both Hatch and Allen have been charged with possession of a firearm, possession of narcotics and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Since Hatch was the driver of the vehicle, he has also been charged with failure to maintain lane. Both men are currently being held without bond.
It’s been more than ten years since Boosie scored hits such as “Wipe Me Down” and “Zoom.” Since that time he has had some serious legal issues. According to the Associated Press, in 2011, the Louisiana native pled guilty to smuggling drugs into two Louisiana state prisons with the help of a prison guard. In a plea agreement, Hatch was sentenced to eight years in prison for that crime.
