Christopher Thomas, a native of Montgomery, Alabama is a veteran marketing brand agent, publisher and serial entrepreneur as well as a devoted husband and father. At an early age, he recognized that entreprenuership would probably be his most successful route to long term success thanks to the training and exposure he received from his own father.

Moving to Atlanta and leaving his hometown was more than a notion, but he determined it would be the best move to launch and secure a career in marketing and brand consulting. After giving the corporate route a good run, the entrepreneurial itch pushed him into leaping out on faith and starting his own business.

Growing up as a third generation entrepreneur mentally groomed Thomas for a  lifetime of taking charge and prompted him to establish the MMGroup Marketing Agency and publish inCity Magazine.

From a father’s perspective, what two books would you recommend every child read?
I would recommend the first book on the list to be The Bible. Second, would be The Richest Man in Babylon.
Why is it important to expose children to education and valuable skills?
This is an interesting question. My dad and I were discussing this a while back. Proper exposure helps to avoid what we described as “generational curses.” To me, a generational curse can be a positive or negative one. Some of my generational curses were negative as a child. If my parents would have exposed me to more, it would have made a dynamic impact on my life.
Finish the sentence: Never give up on yourself because …
Life doesn’t work for us unless we do the right thing.
Share one of the fondest memories you’ve experienced with your father, grandfather or father figure.
One of my fondest memories I have experienced was when my dad and I went on our fishing trip. That is when I caught my first fish. It was a big mouth bass and I can remember it like it was yesterday.
Name one life lesson that no one taught you, but should have.
My parents didn’t teach me about credit when I was growing up. I had to learn about credit on my own through trial and error.
Why should you read every day?
First, we must be mindful of what we feed our brains. Second, we grow and develop daily. We can read a book one time, two months later read it again and pick up a different gold nugget. The reason is that we [receive] a message, depending on where we are in life at that point.
