The hijinks start immediately when socially inept Uber driver, Stu (Nanjiani) picks up a brutish detective (Bautista) and becomes involved in a criminal investigation. With their fates entwined as the day progresses, Stu and Detective Vic race to a climatic ending.
Unlike other buddy cop films, Bautista and Nanjiani make the most of their oddball pairing. Bautista owns his role as the mean cop with Nanjiani bringing the light and laughter to balance out the ride.
Ahead of the premiere rolling out sat down with Dave Bautista and Kumail Nanjiani in Los Angeles. Falling right back into stride, the two are unintentionally funny and it’s gold.
It’s been a busy summer for both Stuber stars with Dave Bautista and Kumail Nanjiani starring in Avengers: End Game and Men in Black: International respectively. But the pair were not too busy to discuss the flying under the comedy radar with laughs as big as Bautista’s muscles.
