R. Kelly remains behind bars as he awaits trial on multiple charges of sexual abuse. However, the embattled singer has been able to count on his two girlfriends, Joycelyn Savage, 23, and Azriel Clary, 21, for support.
Savage and Clary are seeking alternative ways to help Kelly, 52, as he remains in jail at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago, according to TMZ. The two are currently working on several projects that could land them a big payday. One project is a book that they are shopping with the hopes of landing a six-figure payday. If they are given a book deal, the money would likely be used to help Kelly’s defense team.
As previously reported, Kelly is looking to hire the prominent attorney Tom Mesereau, who served on criminal cases involving Michael Jackson and Bill Cosby.
The Grammy Award-winning singer has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual assault, and aggravated criminal sex abuse. The four aggravated criminal sexual assault charges are felonies that could carry prison terms of up to 30 years.
Kelly was denied bond due to prosecutors’ claims that he is “an extreme danger to the community, especially minor girls.”
