While Yoba was lauded for speaking his truth, the New York Police Department confirmed to the Washington Post that they have taken interest in his transsexual accuser’s story.
NYPD spokesperson Sgt. Jessica McRorie urged anyone who believes they were wronged by Yoba to step forward.
“The NYPD takes child abuse, sexual assaults and rape cases extremely seriously, and urges anyone who has been a victim to file a report so we can perform a comprehensive investigation, and offer support and services to survivors,” McRorie said.
No one knows how these latest developments will impact Yoba’s scheduled appearance at the National Trans Visibility March in Washington.
Marissa Miller, the lead strategic director “said not enough is known about the accusation for march leaders to issue a statement,” according to the Post.
However, the transsexual accuser, Mariah Lopez Ebony, said things will turn out bad for Yoba. She said Yoba begged for unprotected sex and that she was not the only teen that Yoba had relations with.
“New York’s Child Sex Abuse law means Malik will have to face the music. Sorry to burst a lot of folks bubbles,” Ebony wrote in a Facebook post that went viral.
