“At one point, everybody has had that relationship — that love and war,” she said.
“Even when I know it’s bad for me, I just gotta have it, I’m hooked. I don’t want to be free of this art of love and war. I’m your prisoner. This is what love is. It’s not always pretty. It’s not always flowers. But you stick with it. It’s about that forever love.”
Although her 10-year marriage ended amicably, Hamilton experienced some trials on her path of peace and self-love. “It’s been a journey for me to get to this place where I’m healed to move forward and not stop anymore,” she said.
Life has had some starts and stops since JPENNELOPE emerged, but they are now ready to give fans more with an upcoming EP and tour.
“We want the people to connect with us and go on this journey with us that started back then [2011]. This go-round, it’s do-or-die, now or never. We’re not stopping this time,” she said.
“‘Love & War’ is a perfect example of the relationship and the journey that JPENNELOPE has had throughout the years.”
