Clifford “T.I.” Harris tried to rationalize on Jada Pinkett Smith’s “Red Table Talk” why he used to accompanied his 18-year-old daughter, Deyjah Harris, to the gynecologist to ensure her virginity.
Just as importantly, Tip wanted to explain why he chose to “embellish” and “exaggerate” about the annual checks and why he uttered her private business in the public sphere. The Grand Hustle boss, 39, did apologize to his daughter on the air for that faux pas.
Deyjah Harris’ biological mother, Ms. Niko, who is also known as Ranniqua, was not feeling Tip’s explanation and posted this telling Instagram message:
Tip claimed that his words and intentions regarding his daughter were “misconstrued,” “misinterpreted” and “sensationalized.”
“Let me set this record straight,” he said. “I was never in any exam room. That was an assumption, a falsity. I never said it was being done [in] the present day as an 18-year-old. I never said her mother wasn’t present.”
One Facebook responder wrote this about Ms. Niko: “She needs to speak up, but she’s probably keeping it tight-lipped for her daughter’s sake and ’cause he controls the money.”
A second person had this reaction: “She likely was aware…..but she is speaking out now because he is putting this baby’s business out in the world….which as a mother her complaints in November 2019 are valid irrespective of whether or not she was fine with him coming to the doctor visits. These are two mutually exclusive things.”
