How did you come up with the name BrowZnAround? Tell us more about your business.
I got the name because I wanted the word brow in it. At the time, brows were the big thing. You know brows are so important anyway, but I think that [they are] one of the last things that people think about. They make a big difference, good or bad. I had a strong background in that, but I was a licensed esthetician, so I was able to do full-body waxing and eyelash enhancement. Throughout the years, I’ve been building on it with permanent makeup and the micro-blading.
You also have a nonprofit. Tell us about it.
The nonprofit is BrowzN4aCure. My son was my inspiration actually because, at the age of 8 years old, he developed epilepsy. Dealing with an illness like that changes your life. With BrowzN4aCure, I wanted to keep the name open because we’re browsing for a cure for a lot of different things. Some women lose their hair from cancer, chemo or alopecia, so that’s how I connect the foundation with my services. I do the permanent makeup to give them a little bit of themselves back. It makes a big difference, and it’s dear to my heart.
