What are the top three issues that you see married couples deal with?
We focus on those things on the website by category. No. 1 is communication. No. 2 [is] finance, and that was actually what our last DVD, Generation One, The Search for Black Wealth, was about. It was one of the bestselling products that we’ve ever done because finance and leaving a legacy is something that our couples are interested in. The next thing I would say is blended families. A lot of people are getting married, and they are bringing kids into the marriage. I think sometimes people have kids first and then they go and get married, or it may be a remarriage situation.
What marketing strategies do you use to remain relevant?
We just know our data. In order to implement new strategies to reach out to consumers, No. 1, we look at our data. No. 2, we go to conferences. We invest in ourselves, we just try to understand what’s relevant and what’s at the forefront in front of marketing.
