The three women that have inspired me the most in my life are dancer Katherine Dunham, musician Bernice Johnson Reagon and writer Toni Morrison. Each of them led careers as artists and scholars. They completely transformed their fields through both their artwork and also their occupations as educators and their unwavering commitment to social justice and the progress of Black people.
