Pastor Corey Brooks and Project H.O.O.D. provide relief for the community

Would you say there is racial disparity when it comes to this pandemic? If so, why and how should it be addressed?

We knew early on that African Americans would likely be at greater risk for contracting or dying from COVID-19 due to many risk factors that typically plague our communities: underlying health conditions, more likely to be essential workers, inadequate access to health care, etc. This makes it even more important for leaders to step in with resources to educate and support underserved populations.

What else does Project H.O.O.D. have planned after this fundraiser and food giveaway?

Project H.O.O.D. has raised more than $61,000 for the Coronavirus Rent and Food Relief Fund and helped over 2,000 people thus far. On Sunday, we are distributing relief packages to families in collaboration with New Beginnings Church and our gracious sponsors and volunteers. Beyond that, we will continue to serve as first responders and assist those who are disproportionately impacted by this pandemic.
