Tell us about the My Black Is Beautiful partnership.
We partnered with My Black Is Beautiful [in 2019] for the holiday season to offer products that would make girls feel beautiful in their skin. Our Zoe doll came with a MBIB shirt, a matching MBIB shirt for the child, and our Curl Care Kit featured the full line of My Black is Beautiful hair products that can be used on both the doll and the child. We love seeing all the girls and their Zoe dolls in matching MBIB shirts.
What do you want young girls to feel when they receive one of your dolls?
I want young girls to feel what they already feel when they get a Healthy Roots Doll: the “OMG, she looks just like me.” I know that Healthy Roots Dolls is achieving our goal of showing girls they are perfect just the way they are.
