Which fatherhood experiences have taught you the most about yourself?
Fatherhood has taught me that there are always little eyes watching me and that I’m somebody’s hero, even when I don’t feel like it. I need to be the best that I can be, because they want to be just like me.
Why do you recommend reading every day?
Reading gives you knowledge and insight. The more you read, the more knowledge and insight you gain. Even if you read the same book over and over, you are almost guaranteed to find something new, that you didn’t see before.
Name one life lesson that no one taught you, but should have.
I wasn’t told that systems in place were meant to keep me out. I wasn’t told that I need to work harder, be twice as good, talk different, just to have a chance at success.
How does following your spiritual values help you in life?
Being a man of God is the most valued thing in my life. There have been times when everything and everyone has failed me, but God taught me to do everything I can and let Him handle the rest. He hasn’t failed me yet.
Why is writing down your fatherhood goals important? Share your most valued and treasured fatherhood goal.
Writing down fatherhood goals keeps me laser focused. When I get weary, it is a constant reminder of why I do what I do. My most valued goal is to provide a safe and positive home for my children.
