As an artist do you feel responsible for your lyrics?
I’m totally 100 percent responsible for everything that has to do with my creative process — the beats, the lyrics, the mixes. I record myself because music for me is a very personal experience, especially when I’m writing. If you listen to my lyrics, they’re about drugs, sex, violence, but it’s my story. I’m not promoting it, but that’s what I live. That’s what I’ve experienced. I’m not telling you to do it. I’m telling you, “This my story and here’s a day in the life.” We all have our demons and stuff. My little sister is one of my biggest fans and I really care about what she hears. But at the end of the day, you have to accept that what artists do is what they are going to say. These are human beings and what I experience is what I’m going to write about.
