How did it feel to be featured in the “Entrepreneur” video by Pharrell Williams feat. Jay-Z?
Being featured was such an honor. When I first read the email asking whether I wanted to be in the music video, I initially thought this must be a scam. It’s not every day that you wake up to an email from Pharrell and Jay-Z’s music video producers, but it was all very real. I’m beyond grateful that I could be involved in such an important project with a powerful message that’s uplifting Black business owners.
What do you hope people feel when they see one of your arrangements?
Whether you’re sending, receiving, arranging, or just seeing flowers — they have the remarkable ability to lift our spirits. Working with blooms has been my own way of spreading joy through flowers.
What advice do you have for women of color entrepreneurs?
As women of color and as entrepreneurs, many of us pour so much of ourselves into our work and our communities. Try to be clear on the things that you care about most. Take inventory of the tasks and people that fuel and inspire you versus those that zap you. Always remember that your work is not your worth.
