1. Jay Electronica – A Written Testimony

In 2009, Jay Electronica dropped the Just Blaze-produced single “Exhibit C” and immediately earned his place among rap’s elite. Then he disappeared for 10 years. On Feb. 7, 2020, Electronica announced he would be releasing A Written Testimony. Electronica released an album that set the tone for every rap album to follow. Minister Louis Farrakhan opens the album with a fiery speech titled “The Overwhelming Event.” On “Ghost of Soulja Slim,” the first Jay you hear rapping is Jay-Z. However, make no mistake about it: this is Jay Electronica’s vibe and is the best hip-hop project of 2020.
