Mitchell Scott shares his most valued and treasured fatherhood goals

Name one life lesson that no one taught you but should have?
As a parent, do not be too proud to admit to your child — even when they are very young — when you have made a mistake and apologize with sincerity. If you never apologize to your child, you can’t expect them to do the same. It takes maturity to admit when you have made a mistake, and the earlier this lesson is learned the better.

How does following your spiritual values help you in life?
My faith in God serves as my moral compass. I am not perfect, but I am faithful.

Share one of your fondest memories of an experience you had with your father.
My fondest memory with my father is riding with him in his car, especially when he purchased a new car. My father and I both love new cars and I love that new car smell. He would take me to the local convenience store and buy me candy before venturing all over town to visit friends. My father is very witty and always knew how to make me laugh.

Share your most valued and treasured fatherhood goal.
My goals for my children remain the same; (1) Teach them to love God, (2) To honor thy mother and father (3) and to be their most authentic self while seeking to be their very best self no matter the path.
