Don’t double-dip
If you and your partner engage in anal play and vaginal sex, do not go back and forth between the two. Anything that enters the rectum, fingers, toys, or penis, should be cleaned off before entering back into the vagina. The rectum carries a different bacteria than the vagina and can seriously throw off your pH balance and put you at risk of infection.
Urinate after sex
Before you and your partner lay down to cuddle after sex or before you grab your clothes to leave, you and your partner should add peeing to your post-sex regimen. Even if you don’t have to pee, try to do it, this bathroom break can flush any bacteria out and help prevent bladder infections.
Clean and properly store any sex toys
Sex toys are a great way to spice up your sex life individually or with your partner. Though if not cared for properly, they can carry and spread germs and bacteria. Make sure you do not share toys, what is yours should only be yours. Next, make sure you are cleaning your toys properly and after every use and storing them in a safe, dry environment.
