If you could change something about the world, what would it be?
Racism, poverty and violence are the three top atrocities that I’d be happy to see eradicated.
What has been your biggest win?
My biggest win has been becoming a woman that I love and believe in. When I turned 40, I took a look at who I was. I became accountable for the actions of who I’d been and work daily on becoming who I need to be to achieve my goals. One of the greatest [wins] has been growing Qui in just 2.5 years into a global company with 70-plus QuiVAs and holding a million dollars in contracts primarily from black woman owned businesses.
What do you know now that you wish you would have known sooner when growing your business?
I wouldn’t have started my entrepreneurship journey with the thing that I’m most passionate about, but instead what I’m most skilled in. I spent seven years running off the fumes of passion barely able to feed myself, broke and broken. When I decided to pivot and use my skills in organizational leadership and sales, I was able to monetize and invest in what I’m most passionate about. Use what you got to get what you want.
