How important is it for Black writers and readers to have their stories told?
As a Black author, I feel it is extremely important to have our stories told and to read stores of other Black authors and writers. It shows us we aren’t alone or how to overcome situations. We can learn so much from reading the work of others from similar backgrounds to us.
What books are you currently reading?
I am currently reading Ashley Antoinette’s Butterfly series.
Why Ashley Antoinette?
Ashley Antoinette is my favorite author because of how well she writes. Her storylines keep me engaged, and she has proved writing can unlock many doors to success. I hope to write my own series one day in the urban fiction genre.
