Meet the 4 women running for mayor of Atlanta

Felicia Moore:

Moore began her reign as the president of the Atlanta City Council in 2018, so it would appear that she is perched advantageously to transition to the next step in City Hall. She began her public service career as a president of her Riverside neighborhood association and then the chair of the Neighborhood Planning Unit-D. This greatly aided in her election as City Councilmember for District 9, where she served 20 years.

Kirsten Ellen Dunn:

Dunn enters the race with a plethora of experiences and accomplishments. She is a serial entrepreneur, real estate investor, optician and author. She is a strong proponent of reducing crime, which has skyrocketed in the past year. Dunn said she will collaborate with local law enforcement agencies, neighborhood associations and community supporters to develop traditional and non-traditional prevention and intervention methods through the CeaseFire initiative.

Rebecca King:

King entered the race as the CEO of insurance documentation firm Cover Your Assets. As a member of the Neighborhood Planning Unit, Livable Buckhead, and the North Buckhead Association, King has become greatly concerned with the spike in crime in the city, particularly within the upscale Buckhead district. If she is elected, she vows to hire a new police chief as well as amplify the Pre Arrest Diversion program to 24/7 service.

Sharon Gay:

Gay has already served in the office of the mayor as she was one of Bill Campbell’s top lieutenants during the era of the Atlanta Olympics. She was very instrumental in the financing of major real estate projects within the past decade, including Atlantic Station, Ponce City Market, Glenwood Place, Madison Yards, Stockyards, Atlanta Dairies, and Krog Street Market. Gay, who is an attorney for arguably the world’s largest law first, Dentons, also served as vice president of governmental affairs for the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.
