What inspires you to write?

TP: What inspired me to write, was being younger and watching my aunt, who was an avid reader, get lost in several books in the course of a week. Her bookshelf was full of Danielle Steele books. I would watch her sitting silently in a corner reading, and it looked peaceful.

EJ: The fact of enlightening the lives of others and promoting literacy through great writing inspires me to write. I also love the feedback that I get back from reviews, which also inspires me, even more, to write and continue to make an impact on others.

What advice can you offer to others who desire to be an author?

TP: The advice that I would give to anyone wanting to become a published author, is to understand that between 600,000 and 1,000,000 books are published each year in the US alone. With knowing this, I would still advise anyone that has a story, to put it to paper. Books are timeless, regardless of whether it was written in the ’80s, your words may possibly be on someone’s bookshelf long after you’re gone.

EJ: The best advice that I can offer writers is to believe in themselves and the creative process that they have. Make sure that you follow an author’s timeline in making sure that you have the basics in writing a book, and keep in mind that the book you write could save a life, or make life worth living for someone.
