Changemakers from the worlds of fashion, cryptocurrency, real estate, film, music, media, and more gathered in Detroit‘s TCF Center this past weekend for the inaugural Industry Fest.
Running from Saturday, Nov. 13 to Sunday, Nov. 14, the event was cultivated by event promoter Jay Mapes, the CEO of Capital Promotions.
A car show, booths for local businesses, a fashion show, and food stands were just some of the activities that set the stage for this event.
Concerts featured Detroit artists such as Stewe, Big Strick, and many others. But the industry panels were the highlights of the event for many attendees.
Panels included:
– “Girl Boss” panel, featuring Randi Rossario, to give advice to women on thriving as leaders and entrepreneurs;
– The Media Talk panel, which featured Huffpost editor Phil Lewis, Blac magazine editor Erikka Simpson, and popular Detroit radio personality Dr. Darrius;
– Music and Film panel, featuring Brian “Peanut” Brown and director Dennis Reed II;
– Digital Assets panel for investors;
– And a panel for aspiring entrepreneurs in the fashion world.
Originally, Mapes planned for Industry Fest to be a music festival event similar to Rolling Loud.
“We have festivals that we’re used to here … but there’s nothing for the culture, there was nothing for us that’s here, and we set out to actually change that narrative,” Mapes explained to rolling out during an exclusive interview.
