What does it say?
It says “Make it with Maverick,” “Los Angeles,” and I put my name in there a few times, I’m not going to lie. I reinvented the letters to fit the space.
What does it feel like to be at ComplexCon?
It’s been a while, but it feels great. I’m in a different space. Years ago, I was known only for letter design, but in the last six years I’ve taken on large scale murals and other works that have been featured in the local museums.
What advice do you give to the kids?
Art is more fun and is better with kids. They’re like sponges, they really absorb the art. I’ve had kids that are religiously tagging us. I always advise them to never give up and don’t look for the easy route. Stick to it.
