Dolph was in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee, last week for his annual Thanksgiving giveaway when he was gunned down following a stop at a local bakery called Makeda’s Cookies. Dolph’s family’s statement also included a quote from author Rudyard Kipling that read:
“If you can talk with the crowd and keep your virtue, or walk with Kings-nor lose the common touch; If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you; If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute with 60 seconds worth of distance run- Yours is the earth and everything that’s in it, And-which is more-you’ll be a man my son.”
Police in Tennessee have tied a car used in the killing of the rapper to another shooting that left a woman dead and wounded another person days before Dolph was shot. Police released photos taken from surveillance video that captured Dolph being shot, but no arrests have been made.
