“Any instance of domestic violence is unacceptable, and we fully support the decision by the Commissioner’s Office regarding Marcell,” the Braves released in a statement. “We are encouraged to know that Marcell has accepted full responsibility for his actions and is taking the necessary measures to learn and grow from the situation.”
The alleged incident wasn’t the only time Ozuna has been allegedly involved with domestic disputes that turned physical. In 2020, multiple reports confirmed his wife was arrested for allegedly hitting Ozuna in the face with a soap dish. Ozuna didn’t immediately comment on the incident publicly, but after the reported arrest, he posted a necklace of him and her on Instagram with the caption “You & I — so you can always carry it in your heart,” as translated by TMZ Sports.
In February, the Braves signed Ozuna to a four-year, $64 million contract.
As already reported by at least one media outlet earlier, we have received multiple requests for the release of the May 29, 2021 arrest of @Braves Marcell Ozuna. This arrest was the result of SSPD Officers responding to his residence after receiving an domestic violence 911 call
