How singer-songwriter Adam Ness is bending music with his style

How did you end up on Noname’s Room 25?

The Chicago music scene is pretty tight-knit. Noname reached out to me through a DM to ask if I would be interested in laying down some vocals for the album. I, of course, jumped on the opportunity — I’ve always admired her work. We went into the studio and the vibe was instant. She gave me free rein. I ended up double featuring on featuring on two songs from the Room 25 album, “Prayer Song” and “No Name.” I also went on tour with her for the album.

What would you say is the responsibility of the artist?

The responsibility of the artist is to give us the soundtracks to our life experiences. Music elevates life in ways that few other things can, in my opinion. Whether love, joy, grief, triumph, failure, evolution or revolution, there’s a song for it and the best artists gave those songs to us.
