Rap star YoungBoy Never Broke Again set off alarm bells for his fans who wonder about his current mental state after posting a cryptic tweet that seemed to be a cry for help.
The Baton Rouge, Louisiana-born rapper, who is better known for his former music moniker of NBA Youngboy, sent out this Instagram story on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, that thanked his many fans for getting his back during this tumultuous period in his life. But he added that he’s being worn down by the layers of real problems he’s dealing with.
YoungBoy, 22, whose birth name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, has been embroiled in a litany of legal and professional issues all while engaging in beef with fellow artists.
YoungBoy remains under home confinement in Utah after he and his crew were arrested in his Louisiana hometown for allegedly brandishing firearms while making a video in September 2020. In January 2022, the Houston home YoungBoy bought for his mother was raided by the local SWAT Team and several people were arrested and guns were confiscated in connection to the shooting of a man who survived multiple gunshot wounds.
Additionally, YoungBoy has been accused by Playboi Carti of biting off his flow, which incited social media warfare between the two stars. And if that weren’t enough, YoungBoy had to deal with the daughter of boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, Yaya Mayweather, who broke into YoungBoy’s home in 2020 and stabbed his current girlfriend, Lapattra Lashai Jacobs. The younger Mayweather faces 20 years in prison after she pleaded guilty to felonious assault with a deadly weapon in March 2022.
Perhaps those issues – coupled with the fact that YoungBoy has to care for a reported seven children at the young age of 22 – have become too much for the beloved lyricists to deal with.
Therefore, when YoungBoy published the IG story, fans were genuinely concerned for his well-being as seen below.
