Veteran radio host Mz.Shyneka is no stranger to the limelight. The 94.5 Streetz morning show host has been a fixture in Southern music culture for nearly two decades. She’s chronicled her share of celebrity scandals, sold-out memorable concerts, and the exciting ATL nightlife, but when it comes to matters of the heart, Mz.Shyneka realized she was a novice. A painful breakup and numerous attempts at finding love had left her unmotivated when it came to believing in true love. A life-changing encounter with Iyanla Vanzant changed Mz. Shyneka’s perspective and soon thereafter ,she reconnected with an on again, off again flame, Correy Maxwell. Equipped with a new level of enlightenment, she found herself falling in love. The realization of love was soon accompanied by an engagement and before they knew it, Mz. Shyneka and Maxwell had become #relationshipgoals for their friends and family. She had an amazing man and a relationship that felt worth working on, yet there were still issues. Mz. Shyneka and Maxwell realized they needed assistance in navigating their relationship to figure out if it was worthy of forever or needed to fizzle out. The two were offered the opportunity to get help from Judge Lynn Toler on WE tv’s newest relationship experiment, “Commit or Quit” and the two jumped at the opportunity to get some real help.

Once the couple was signed up for the show and started talking with Judge Toler, it became apparent Mz. Shyneka wasn’t the only one struggling with the relationship. Maxwell confided in Judge Toler there was a huge secret he hadn’t shared with his fiancée.

“After a while, I realized I didn’t know how to even bring up the subject and I was scared if I was honest, she may not even want to work it out. There is always the possibility that if I told her the truth, she could leave me,” Maxwell explained.

Lifestyle differences, past relationship baggage and family secrets were working overtime to drive the couple apart. Toler provided counseling but ultimately had to make the decision to either marry the couple or suggest they go their separate ways.

Toler has the responsibility of deciding the fate of Mz. Shyneka and Maxwell’s relationship along with several other couples with relationship challenges on “Commit or Quit,” which will air Thursday, June 23 on WE tv at 10 p.m. EDT.
