Pretty Vee wants MTV original film ‘Pretty Stoned’ to touch viewers

The film shows social media influencer in a new light

If you are looking for a good laugh, you can guarantee that Vena Excell, widely known as Pretty Vee, will deliver. Her comedic success on social media has led her to landing roles on TV, brand collaborations, and now a new movie. The Instagram sensation is set to star in a new MTV original movie, “Pretty Stoned,” premiering April 19, 2023. The film is about two polar opposite co-workers, Stella (Pretty Vee) and Darcy (Paris Berelc), who join forces when they find themselves in trouble.

“Pretty Stoned” features many familiar faces, including Brandee Evans from “P-Valley,” Kandi Burruss, Jessica “Jess Hilarious” Moore, D.C. Young Fly, and DreamDoll.

“I want people to laugh and enjoy themselves, and I know this movie will touch everyone,” Pretty Vee said.

In true 4/20 fashion, MTV will broadcast How High and Half Baked before the movie’s premiere.

How has having a lead role in a film impacted your life?

The comedy space led me to what I wanted to do, which was TV. You know, movies, films, and sitcoms … God will allow your gift to make room for you. That’s where I’m at right now in that space. I started in radio and used whatever I had to get to where I needed to. Thanks to those who gave me an opportunity, like Nick Cannon, Issa Rae, Paramount, MTV, and so on.

What do you want viewers to take away from the film?

The greatest thing is that it’s a female-led comedy. To see me and my peers take over that space is everything. I want people to laugh but also know that you all will see a more profound message toward the end of the movie. The cast is unique, and for me to be a part of this is dope. I know this movie will touch everyone.
