A Virginia rapper reportedly shot and killed his mother, sister and brother before dropping his music video. Rapper EGYPXN later got into a shootout with police in another state where he was struck and killed.

According to Yahoo! News, the artist, née Tiye Adam Washington II, broke into his mother’s home on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, though the local story is just now reaching the national media. After gaining entry into the home, Washington fired and struck his mother, Tyesha Hall, his 21-year-old sister, and his 12-year-old brother.

While the violence ensued, the rapper’s video “Be Free,” which had been pre-scheduled to drop on YouTube, was released to the public, according to The Source.

Washington, 26, immediately fled the scene as the police conducted a statewide manhunt. Authorities later tracked Washington down in Rutherford County, North Carolina, on Thursday, March 30, 2023, where Washington was slain during a standoff with the police.

Meanwhile, the injured family members were rushed to the VCU Medical Center’s critical care unit in Richmond, Virginia, with life-threatening injuries.

On the day before Washington was killed, he uploaded a chilling and foreboding message to his Instagram account that foretold his eventual demise.

“My last request from humanity is that you seriously evaluate the care you have for each other. If this species is to ever evolve you must stop eating animals, stop warring with each other and take care of mother earth,” he penned. “Overthrow this sadistic government and rebuild. On a fresh foundation. It’s time for me to rest now..”

ABC 8 News caught up with Tamara Harris and Roneece Walker-Jewett who are friends of the injured family members. They conveyed confusion as to what could have possibly precipitated the bloodshed.

“To my knowledge, there were no issues that would have led to such a tragic event,” Harris told the news station.

“I didn’t believe them, and I called [Hall’s] ex-husband, and he actually got on the scene,” added Walker-Jewett. “I can hear the paramedics in the background saying … ‘female, two shots to the chest.’ ”
