Kai Cenat, AMP once again become Georgia State students for a night (video)

Popular social media influencers make public appearance

Georgia State University wants to create a hostile home environment by any means possible.

On Feb. 1, the school’s men’s basketball program invited the popular social media collective AMP as the team faced off against Appalachian State University. The group’s appearance, promoted only a night before the game, resulted in the Panthers’ second-highest-attended match of the season. Only the Georgia Southern game, which was on a Saturday and the team’s top rival, brought out a larger crowd than the Thursday night conference match-up.

The AMP collective is headlined by Kai Cenat, the second-most subscribed streamer on Twitch. Cenat has made his streaming room in the AMP Mansion the priority stop for the top figures within hip-hop, from Drake, 21 Savage, Lil Baby, and Lil Yachty to Ice Spice, Nicki Minaj, Mario, DDG, Offset, and Teanna Trump. Cenat’s influence in real life was measured when he shut down New York City at a meet and greet.
Group member Duke Dennis also has a tremendous influence, as he popularized the word “rizz,” which is slang for having game in encounters of the opposite sex. Oxford University crowned “rizz” as the 2023 Word of the Year.

Agent 00 has been the unofficial spokesperson of the group;. ImDavisss recently went viral in his video using the unreleased Tesla Cybertruck; the Fanum tax became one of the more interesting online storylines of 2023, and Chrisnxtdoor has continued to develop as a music artist. All members of the collective were at the game except for Fanum.

Cenat has visited the school multiple times since he moved to Atlanta, including this past fall when he attended a football game and walked through the dorms while streaming. On Feb. 1, all present members went into the student section, took selfies, and high-fived students. Cenat grabbed a band member’s trumpet and began mimicking the movements of him playing the instrument. He also led the student section’s swagg surf. At halftime, the collective played knockout on the court.

Georgia State, however, came up short on the court, as the team lost 81-71.
